Taipei shopping trip Sep 2012: Part 1 (Summary / Wan Nian Building)

Part 2 Link
Part 3 Link

Took a break with a trip down to Taipei with my wife.
Went a bit crazy with my purchase given the much lower pricing after conversion.
Listed down the few model shops I visited.
Short summary:
- Shops in Wan Nian Building: cheapest with largest collection, bought most of my stuff here
- Taipei Station Underground: cheap but not a lot in terms of collection
- Gundam Base Taipei: expensive, a lot of displays so good for sight seeing
- Toy World at Taipei 101: expensive, not much collection
- Ji Xing at Nan Ning Road: mostly planes, ships etc, not much gunplas

Start off with pictures of my winnings for this trip.

Price comparison of my purchases
Based on information that I can reasonably obtain, to give an idea of the difference.
All converted to SGD below (@ 23.5TWD & 63.8JPY).
NOTE: For reference only as the prices (& FX rates) are subjected to changes...

Wan Nian Building (萬年商業大樓)
Address: 台北市萬華區西寧南路704
General Directions:  Take metro to Ximen Station, take exit 6, walk along Emei St, it's just a few blocks away

Quite a few model shops (~4) on the fourth floor of this building.
Shop called Dong Hai near the descending escalator has the most collections.
Price difference between the shops here are very marginal.
Bought most of my stuff here though because they have most the stuff that I want.
The shop staff are also very friendly.
They helped me pack my items into a big box (those for 1/60 PGs) for convenience of luggage check-in which saved me the headache of doing it myself.
